WHAT WE OFFER
LANGUAGE COURSES
Nakona University offers a variety of Language Courses. These courses are designed to enhance language skills over time, with each course building on the previous one. The courses are 15 weeks and are offered during the Fall and Spring semesters. The best part is that each course can be taken multiple times to achieve mastery.
CHILDREN LANGUAGE COURSES
Welcome to Nakona University's Children's Language Courses! Our courses consist of 6 lessons that cover vocabulary, verb conjugations, reading images and color codes, and handtalk. You can join the course at any time as they are offered throughout the year. Our classes are online and 45 minutes long, grouped into 4-6 days. We look forward to helping your child learn a new language!
CULTURE COURSES
Nakona University offers a variety of unique culture courses throughout the year. These courses include starquilt making, chokecherry juice making, ribbon dress or shirt making, moccasin making, and learning about special topics. The courses are offered online in 45-minute to 2-hour increments until the product is finished. Please note that students are responsible for their own tools, materials, and resources.
EDUCATION COURSES
Nakona University offers a range of education courses that prioritize traditional child rearing and teaching methods. Among these courses is the language immersion program, which is specifically designed for students who wish to teach using language as the primary of communication. Through this program, students will gain a deeper understanding of how to remain indigenous in today's world and prepare children to do the same
