NAK 100
Welcome to NAK 100, the first language course for learning Nakona language. In this course, you will be introduced to 250 vocabulary terms, including one-word phrases, nouns, adverbs, and verbs. You will learn the phonemes and graphemes of the language. You will learn the first, second, and third-person points of view for verb conjugations in the present tense. Additionally, you will be introduced to the future and negative verb tenses, along with basic syntax for Nakona thoughts. Finally, you will learn to read and translate multi-paragraphs written in Nakona.​

NAK 101
Welcome to NAK 101, the second language course for learning Nakona language. In this course, you will continue to build your vocabulary base. You will learn negative, future, and future-negative verb tenses. You will learn how to modify words to include suffixes and key words that denote past tense. Students continues to acquire a deeper understanding of word order. Students continue to read multi-sentence paragraphs.

NAK 102
Welcome to NAK 102. In this course, you will learn verb tenses: future, negative, future/negative, and past tenses for all types of verbs. You will also acquire a deeper understanding of word order and make connections to deeper meanings of our words in relation to our culture and worldview. Additionally, you will read multiple paragraphs to further enhance your language skills.​ Much of this course focuses on listening development.

NAK 103
Welcome to NAK 103. This course focuses on developing complex language skills. The course introduces students to reflexive, dative, and benefactive verbs. Students will read complex sentences and paragraphs, including stories by Tashunga Saba and Herb Walker. Additionally, students learn cultural and relationship terms that teach us our responsibilities to be Nakona.​

PREREQ: NAK 102​​
NAK 104
Welcome to NAK 104. This course is designed to build Tier 2 level vocabulary. 150 verbs were selected, along with 300 ADVS+ and 300 nouns for this class. Much of this course focusses on word work. Students begin to uncover the interrelationship between Nakona values, culture, beliefs, and ways of knowing.

NAK 200
Welcome to NAK 200. This course is designed to consolidate all language skills in oral and text form. Students read, interpret, state words, thoughts, and stories Nakona. This class focuses on syntax and how complex sentences are organized and conveyed.

NAK 201
Welcome to NAK 201. This course focuses on building independent Nakona Thoughts in basic to complex forms of communication. Students will practice building conversations based on guided prompts. Students work with syntax development. Students begin to write short stories.

NAK 202
Welcome to NAK 202. This course focuses on building independent Nakona Thoughts in basic to complex forms of communication. Students will practice building conversations based on guided prompts. Students work with syntax development. Students begin to write collective stories. Tier 3 vocabulary acquisition is a primary feature of this class. Tier 3 vocabulary adds dimension to the language for storytelling and expressing self in everyday life.

CHILDREN'S
LANGUAGE COURSES
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
NAK 001
Welcome to NAK 001. This is a children's language curriculum, but any age can take this course. Students progress through four bands of curriculum, each band equivalent to 2 years. Students learn to listen and respond in Nakona. Students to read and to write using Tashunga Saba's orthography. Students learn Plains Indian Hand Talk, and learn codes for image prompts.

CULTURE COURSES
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
CUL 001
Welcome to CUL 001. This is a chokecherry juice making class. The class is made up of three, 45-minute online lessons. Students will learn the nutritional value of chokecherries along with their healing properties. Students will learn the vocabulary terms for picking berries, the various types of berries, the terms for washing, cleaning, boiling, and making, the terms for kitchen tools and utensils, and other words associated with chokecherry making. Students are responsible for their own tools, materials for this class. ​
