Crystal's passion for teaching and serving tribal communities has been unwavering over three decades. Her dedication to preserving the Nakona language led her to co-found Nakona University in 2022, in partnership with her grandfather and first language speaker of Nakona, Tashunga Saba. Their joint efforts ensure that the Nakona language will be spoken for generations to come.

Nicholas is a cultural surveyor with a deep passion for understanding the land and its natural resources. Over the past three years, he has hiked over 1500 miles of natural terrain, gaining in-depth knowledge of earth minerals, waters, weather patterns, and animal behaviors. He serves on Nakona University to offer support in land-based education, and his ever-growing understanding of culture, language, and history which greatly contributes to the university's mission.

Sharon's dedication to the Nakona language is truly admirable. As a retired high school Nakona language teacher, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer. Her willingness to support and edit language lessons is a valuable asset to the community. Despite her Finnish descent, her commitment to the preservation of the Nakona language is enduring.

Sylvia's work as a counselor for the Fort Peck Tribes is truly remarkable. She understands the importance of bridging spirituality and wellness, and recognizes that there is no separation between spirituality, culture, and language. Sylvia's works to ensure Nakona University offers a balanced curriculum that blends intelectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development of our learners.
